About MATURA

What kind of world are we helping to create for tomorrow?  Asking this gives individuals and groups alike the motivation to strive for something greater than what exists.  MATURA Action Corporation is the region’s primary agency for services striving to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty.  MATURA is the designated community action agency for Madison, Adams, Taylor, Union, Ringgold, and Adair counties.  MATURA also provides some services in Clarke, Decatur, Montgomery counties in southern Iowa along with Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, O'Brien, and Osceola in northern Iowa. We are one of the eighteen community action agencies across the state continuing to fight the war on poverty.

MATURA Action Corporation is a non-profit agency founded on September 28,1965 and is led by our Executive Director, Ron Ludwig, along with the MATURA governing Board of Directors that is composed of local elected officials, business/other representatives, and low income representatives.  Our current Board Chairman is Phyllis Mullen.  Through dedication and teamwork, along with our Advisory Boards, staff and volunteers, MATURA is investing in our communities through use of federal, state, county, and local funds, including donations in helping people, changing lives.

MATURA Action Corporation is committed to step up to the daily challenges to strengthen not only individuals and families, but the community at large.
