CASI Programs & Services
Head Start & Child Development
These programs provide educational and social activities, nutritious meals and snacks and medical & dental benefits for low-income children ages three to five. Early Head Start provides similar services for children birth to three. The Birth to Three Program in Des Moines County provides parent educators who provide in home services for children from birth to three years of age.
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R)
This program provides support services to parents, child care providers, and the community in response to unmet child care needs. Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is available to child care providers.
Energy Assistance
This program helps low-income households pay a portion of their heating costs.
The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC)
This program provides medical and nutritional assessments, education, and supplemental foods for pregnant women, breast feeding and non-nursing mothers, infants and children up to 5 years old.
Family Development and Self-Sufficiency (FaDSS)
Family Development Specialists work with participants to help them overcome obstacles while working toward self-sufficiency.
Weatherization Assistance Program
This program helps homeowners and renters decrease their energy costs by inspecting and cleaning furnaces, and insulating homes.
MAP
This program helps people get the medications they need.
BIZStart
This program can help people start a successful small business. Training classes are provided and referrals to resources.
SHARE
SHARE stands for Self-Help and Resource Exchange. It is a national network of non-profit organizations dedicated to providing quality monthly food packages at a reduced cost.
