WIA Promise Jobs

The Promise Jobs Program works directly with welfare recipients who are referred into the program by DHS. The Promise Jobs staff help the participant develop a plan that will lead them to self-sufficiency and then provides guidance, job search training, workplace essentials training and case management, and facilitates supportive services and training to help these participants overcome challenges that might prevent them from finding work.

Both WIA and Promise Jobs work closely with partner agencies to best serve our participants. These partners include Southwestern Community College, Iowa Workforce Development, Iowa Department for the Blind, Area Agency on Aging, Iowa Department of Human Services, Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Proteus. Many other organizations and agencies also provide services to our participants so that participants have a collection of services to assist them while pursuing their career goals.
